Households and businesses have been waking up to crushing power bills for more than a decade, but it’s only now that politicians have started to wake up to the obvious cause of that misery, and a few of them appear ready to do something about it.
Sure, there would be no discussion about wind and solar in the absence of the grifters who wallow in the subsidies and their political enablers, ever ready to shovel $billions in taxpayer’s cash into the enormous trough that provides rent-seekers with seemingly endless sustenance.
It seems like only yesterday that the wind and solar scam was off-limits and no politician in their right mind would openly criticise the grand wind and solar ‘transition’ narrative.
That was then, this is now.
Pushback against the net-zero carbon dioxide emissions targets that have been deliberately designed to destroy the West, from the inside is mounting.
In the USA, Donald Trump has gutted the wind and solar scam by simply flipping the script and turning off the tap. Net-zero is deader than the dodo in the US, and terminal in Europe.
Which brings us to this week’s roundup.
In 2001, then Liberal Prime Minister John Howard (notionally a conservative leader) introduced the Renewable Energy Target. That started the rot.
In 2009, Labor PM, Kevin Rudd gave the RET a massive dose of steroids, and the monster created quickly devoured Australia’s once reliable and affordable electricity supplies (you can read the history here).
Last week, Pauline Hanson – who heads One Nation – addressed the National Press Club in Canberra, and what she had to say caused a chain reaction of head explosions among the intelligentsia and political elites. Australia’s renewable energy rent seekers went into fits of apoplexy.
One Nation has been thumping both Labor and the Liberals in opinion polling, so, evidently, what Hanson has been saying has found an eager audience.
Hanson’s Press Club address focused on 3 election winning policy issues: mass and unchecked immigration; energy; and defence.
We cross to the team from Jo Nova for a rundown on what Pauline Hanson had to say about Australia’s presently suicidal energy policy and how One Nation would go about fixing it.
Pauline Hanson, the centrist, just wants a free market in electricity, and an end to the renewable energy bribery

Pauline Hanson’s address to the National Press Club was never more timely. As the team from Jo Nova explains, the obsession with sunshine and breezes has utterly wrecked Australian productivity.

In this post, Paul Homewood explains why adding more solar panels and wind turbines to a power grid is so utterly pointless, and so utterly destructive.

Duggan Flanakin reports on African states that have soundly rejected the wind and solar scam that has been rammed down their throats by eco-zealots from the West and, instead, have chosen nuclear power as their pathway out of poverty.

In the next 2 posts, Kelly Lippke reports on what happens when the environment is overcome by the thumping, grinding cacophony that these things generate: in the first, a study from Poland demonstrates how birds have responded to the industrialisation of their landscape – amping up the volume to hear each other over the racket; in the second, porpoises in the Baltic Sea have been terrorised by these things for years, so much so, most simply disappeared in an effort to avoid the endless noise and those few that remain have stopped making any sound at all.
Wind turbines are getting so loud that some birds are being forced to sing louder just to be heard

A group of porpoises fell silent when a wind farm was built in their habitat, and years later they still have not found their voice

Stay tuned, STT will be back next week with more.

Wind/solar/batteries is not completely dead in the USA. Too many local and state politicians are still on the graft and pushing it.
