Stop These Things’ Weekly Round Up: 24 May 2026

The inevitable disintegration of wind turbines and solar panels provides the perfect example of entropy: inherent disorder, randomness and chaos – all bundled up with the destruction of reliable power supplies and the desecration of pristine environments and/or productive farmland.

On that score – for wind and solar scammers – it’s a case of ‘so far, so good’.

Crony capitalists, who couldn’t care less about the environment, and even less about the provision of reliable electricity at affordable prices.

Which brings us to this week’s roundup.

We kick off with another cracking post from Chris Uhlmann, who highlights the glaring paradox in our essential demand for energy that is always on, available, abundant and increasingly affordable – the more efficient we become at generating electricity, the more we demand it, principally because it is becomes more abundant, reliable and affordable.

In this (lamentful) post from the gang at Ruin-Economy, Sophie Vorrath details the catastrophic implosion of another one of these things. The apparent source of its terminal trouble was, wait for it, “the weather”.

The team from Jo Nova prove the Chinese adage that even a cornered rabbit will fight. Faced with electoral annihilation, the Liberal Opposition have finally taken up the cudgels in an effort to salvage what’s left of Australia’s energy systems.

Vijay Jayaraj reports on a phenomenon which is now so common one might call it a “pattern”. Faced with actual energy shortages, countries across South-East Asian are quietly ditching the net-zero carbon dioxide emissions madness that had been foisted on them by globalist from the West.

Craig Rutter reports on the fact that not only is the Trump administration smashing subsidised wind and solar, it is all in when it comes to generating power by any reliable means. Coal-fired power is, once again, centre stage and nuclear power generation of all shapes and sizes is attracting investment in the hundreds of $billions.

We round out with a couple of large-scale industrial pyrotechnics events from the USA. As always, the wind power outfits concerned talk about ‘rare and unusual events’. Meanwhile, those in the know, just know.

  1. For those who support renewable energy (RE) they are probably ignorant of Demand Response Enabling Device (DRED that started as Demand Reduced Electricity Delivery (PeakSmart in QLD) instigated by governments in 2020 (that’s right in 2020) because they knew that RE could not supply demand.Having replaced an old faulty air-conditioning unit, the local installer contacted me a month later offering a $200 electricity credit to retrospectively install the DRED system. So someone is paying for the circuit boards, plus installation (at about $150+) with the costs probably off the books or in the SmartMeter costs – nothing is mentioned in operation manuals & there is no temperature feedback to remote controls – electric stoves take longer to cook meals at peak times. After contacting the foreign manufacturer of the A/C an email was received from their AU distributor stating the DRED boards were optional. What is the difference between a bribe & a subsidy? The spelling. With enough money laws can be bent, rules & regulations can be changed. Lady Justice may be blind but her ears are open to a deal.I’ve not heard any mention of DRED in media. The closest was an article in The Weekend Australian 8-9 November 2025 by Stephen Anthony of Macroeconomics Advisory & Adjunct Prof. University of Canberra: he mentions rationing for industry & soon for homes too.Victoria is now totally updated with remote access electricity meters, so DRED is likely all AI controlled.Years back the Victorian government refused a Western District gas mine stating it would take away valuable agricultural land. And not all electricians know about DRED.STT wrote about a German study finding 90 tonnes of pollinating bees were killed in a year by turbines: a diminishing problem?University of New England scrubbed a study it was going to do.Chris Uhlmann & the people of Walcha on the New England Tablelands may be interested in the above.Lucas Heights IS a nuclear plant & the last time I looked its original history had been removed – they discovered electricity could be produced so cheaply that a large profit could not be made.AU is not allowed to know if any foreign warships are carrying nuclear weapons & the water is tested for any nuclear powered emissions. It is totally insane. President Trump is being piled on because he has made Europe up its defence budget that the US has been carrying since WWII.With AUKUS we don’t even get our own ‘U’ & are to subsidise UK’s rebuilding of their rundown submarine building yard. Why is AU the only country that has to pay for AUKUS when like Japan, they will be controlled by NATO?We had to compensate France when the diesel subs were cancelled when they could have built nuclear powered ones.
