Mandates, targets and subsidies to wind and solar have wrecked power markets, preventing nuclear power generation from doing what it does best: delivering safe, reliable and affordable power around-the-clock, whatever the weather. The wind and sun cult rant about the cost of nuclear, but avoid details the colossal pricetag of attempting to run on sunshine and breezes like the plague.
Rent-seeking crony capitalists hate nuclear with a passion, simply because it works as the only stand-alone power generation system that does not generate CO2 in the process. Bear in mind the wind and solar scam is premised on the lie that they do not generate any carbon oxide gas, anytime, ever. Ignoring what it took to build the panels and turbines, and carpet the countryside with them.
Which brings us to this week’s roundup.
In this helpful primer, Ronald Stein P.E., Olivia Vaughan and Steve Curtis outline whynuclear power generation is an absolute no-brainer.

Matt Oliver reports on the embarrassment being suffered by UK’s Labour government as a result of the countless £billions being paid to wind power outfits to not generate anything, at all. The headline is positively misleading: there is no way between now and when hell freezes over that a Labour government is going to “crackdown” on the greatest scam in history – they’re all in on it.

Edward Reid details how the wind and solar scam has duplicated the existing power generation system (in terms of capital expenditure) but one that can never replace the original which works around the clock, whatever the weather, whereas wind and solar … well, you know the rest.

Richard Ellenbogen documents a brewing fire disaster as more and more giant lithium-ion batteries are shoehorned into residential areas. Renowned for their ability to spontaneously combust, spewing toxic fireballs that last for days – incapable of being extinguished and left to burn themselves out – using mega-batteries to ‘back up’ chaotically intermittent wind and solar sounds like a suicide pact.

Roger Caiazza attacks wind industry propaganda asserting that an offshore wind power factory (South Fork Wind) is a reliable source of electricity. The myth starts information being used out of context to manipulate readers into believing that offshore wind is a viable generating resource for New York’s future. Roger points out the obvious: Offshore wind is the most expensive source of electricity. Continued funding for a resource that cannot provide energy when needed most is the epitome of misinvestment, disinvestment, and malinvestment.

Watts up with that?

This paper by the Institute for Energy Research, shows how the energy policy backed by the various US States determines the power prices their consumers pay. Those that backed aggressive renewable mandates, 100% “carbon-free” targets, premature coal and nuclear retirements, rooftop-solar cost shifting, and restrictions on natural gas infrastructure routinely deliver the nation’s highest electricity prices. The numbers tell the story.

At 12.17 pm ,March 4th, during Parliamentary Prime Minister’s questions, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch asked why the UK did not have its own North Sea oil and gas, whilst it purchased these from Norway.
Keir Starmer’s reply was that whilst the war with Iran had closed the Gulf of Hormuz, depriving us of oil and Liquefied Natural Gas [LNG] from the Persian Gulf, our UK “Renewable Energy was giving us electricity security.”
That was a palpable untruth! A perusal of UK energy data on Gridwatch.co.uk, shows that UK Wind Energy fell from a high point of 17.4GW at 2am on March 2nd to 2.5GW at 5.20 pm on March 3rd, simply because the wind was dropping as a High Pressure anticyclone developed across the UK! So, how is fickle , yo-yo, wind energy giving the UK “energy security”, Sir Keir??
Furthermore, it is obvious that 30 million electric vehicles[EVs] after 2030, will require a further astronomical 150GW to be available in the National Grid. Where will that come from?
It is arrant nonsense to claim that the UK has “energy security” without oil and gas from the North Sea.
Finally, a few days earlier, a 150 ft blade fell off a 400 ft wind turbine in Carmarthenshire, further proving the immense danger and unreliability of wind energy.
Yours faithfully,

REPORT HERE:-
A SENVION made Wind Turbine operated by RWE very recently shed an immense blade in Brechfa Forest Carmarthen Wales in a NRW Wales Forest. The Brechfa area has now been closed off from Public Access, but RWE is still operating the remaining working Wind Turbines there on site. They are also still operating the RWE similar SENVION Wind Turbines on the open access common land of Mynydd y Gwair in north Swansea. SENVION went into liquidation in 2024.
I have written my concerns of public safety at Mynydd y Gwair to the Chief Executive of Swansea Council and to several Swansea Councillors but, with only one exception, they have not answered my concerns. This situation needs to be considered for public safety and the public informed.
Brechfa RWE operated SENVION wind turbine blade fallen off.
