Doomsday Prepping: Americans Told to Give Up ‘Selfish’ Demand for Constant Electricity

Wind and solar ‘powered’ Californians and South Australians know what it is to have their power cut when the sun sets and/or calm weather sets in.

Mass blackouts and load shedding are part and parcel of our inevitable transition to an all wind and sun powered future. But now we are told, that none of this is a concern and, instead, what’s required is an ‘attitude readjustment program’. Under which we will thank our political betters for living in a brave new world, where power comes at the whims of mother nature; we’ll be glad to get it when it does and not the least bit miffed, when it doesn’t.

So, the idea of having reliable and affordable power as and when we need it is to become a mere blip in our present state of human consciousness. [Note to Ed: these characters might do a quick straw poll amongst patients on life support!]

We Need Blackouts

The Boston Review says:

“The average American household uses electric resources far beyond its needs.”

It goes on to say:

“Demand for electricity” may be the main problem.

And then the article says:

“People living in single family houses should go without electricity a few hours every day. Those of us fortunate enough to live in houses—can tolerate intermittency.”

According to the Boston Review, Americans are “addicted to electrical continuity.”

Here we have the media saying that Americans don’t need reliable electricity. Americans are spoiled, wanting to be able to flip the light switch while being certain the lights will come on.

The idea that Americans can tolerate blackouts is preposterous.

We are not a third world country like Zimbabwe … at least not yet.

The fact is, we are closer to being a third world country than most Americans realize.

From Boston Review website

Wind and solar are being forced onto the grid, while nuclear, coal and natural gas power plants are being deliberately forced from the grid.

What’s left is intermittent, unreliable wind and solar which will result in blackouts. Rolling blackouts can be scheduled, but if the wind stops abruptly, blackouts can come as a surprise.

If you are in an elevator in a 20-story building and a blackout occurs, you may spend several hours with others crammed into an elevator without lighting or air-conditioning.

Even if blackouts are scheduled, they will disrupt your routine. Dinner may be cold, or you may spend the evening using candles to bide your time until the lights come back on. Or maybe they won’t for a day or two?

But, according to Boston Review, you are spoiled if you believe you are entitled to reliable electricity.

This is how far down the Rabbit Hole the left has taken us.

  1. We in Pakistan have tolerated power cuts of 8 hours daily, which is horrendous, and even for days, due to severe weather. Now, thanks to the almighty, we have 24 hour reliable fossil fuel plus hydro power. It was dark times because we depended too much on unreliable power.

  2. What drugs are these people taking? I definitely DO NOT want some of what they’re having!

As for Trump. Why wouldn’t he be suspicious? Especially after 4 years of constant attack by the Democrats who have refused to accept the result of the 2016 election. They have behaved like a petulant child. And that’s putting it mildly! But Trump is going to need solid evidence to back his claims.

  3. I can guarantee the Al Gores of the world will never be without power. If this situation eventuates they will have backup generators that they can turn on. Bloody hypocrites!

  4. Having electricity cut off part of the day on a regular basis is a sign of living in the Third World. That is where the eco-fascists want to take us.
