250 years ago, renegade Americans declared independence from Britain and the rest, as they say, ‘is history’. The stirring words of the Declaration, of course, meant nothing unless the characters behind it were ready to fight and die for it. Which they duly were.
In recent times, another American renegade declared energy independence from the swamp creatures, rent-seekers and crony capitalists who had been bleeding America’s energy system dry for a generation.
That declaration sent wind and solar scammers into a frenzy who, like the British before them, have been fighting a rearguard action to protect their subsidy-soaked self-interest.
But Donald Trump is having none of it.
Trump’s second term will be defined by his focus on restoring reliable and affordable energy to all Americans. And his efforts to destroy the offshore wind industry will, eventually, be regarded with the same reverence enjoyed by Washington’s efforts to beat the Redcoats.
Which brings us to this week’s roundup.
As Dr John Constable explains, Western civilisation depends on reliable and affordable energy, which is why chaotically intermittent wind and solar present such a clear and present danger to the life we have taken for granted.

The Energy Bad Boys, Issac Orr and Mitch Rolling attack the smoke and mirrors metric known as ‘Levelised Cost of Energy’, a bait and switch game played by wind and solar scammers, who pretend that because sunshine and breezes are free, so is the wind and solar power which is occasionally generated, but rarely when it’s needed.

The team from Jo Nova have a little fun with the wind and sun cult’s delusional belief that adding wind and solar inevitably results in lower power prices. Using their pinup girl, Germany as the perfect counter example.
