Stop These Things’ Weekly Round Up: 25 October 2026

Convincing the masses that utterly pointless, weather-dependent power sources were the inevitable future was one almighty Jedi mind trick. But, slowly and surely, the great unwashed masses are waking up.

Already crippling and rapidly escalating power prices have helped in that regard. So too, power rationing, brownouts and blackouts – such as the monster blackout suffered and Portugal and Spain when the grid collapsed following a sudden and cascading ‘hiccup’ caused by uncontrollable solar.

The very fact of sunset (a daily occurrence for the uninitiated) is glossed over as if the complete and total collapse in power generation every single day is a nothing burger.

Which brings us to this week’s roundup.

John Droz kicks off with this piece reporting on how communities in the US – led by Alexandra Fasulo – have brought the grand solar rollout to a halt, focusing on the threatenened loss of America’s best farming land to a power source that delivers around 6 hours worth of power on any given day, at best.

In this piece we hear from Alexandra Fasulo herself – attacking solar outfits permanently wrecking the fertility of the land wherever they operate, by stripping the top soil, selling it on the sly and rendering what was once fertile totally useless thereafter.

Pierre Gosselin reports on the total financial collapse suffered by just one solar power outfit in Spain, where the flood of solar that hits the grid at noon every day means prices go negative, and the only thing keeping the scam alive are a raft dwindling taxpayer subsidies.

We closeout this week with this X post from Electroverse (full article under the show more link), noting the tens of millions of tonnes of toxic blade waste these things will accumulate over the next decade or so – all headed for landfill near you.

Stay tuned, STT will be back next week with more.
