Stop These Things’ Weekly Round Up: 30 August 2026

The wind and solar ‘industries’ are easily the most hated corporate enterprises in modern history. Whole communities despise their operators, and reserve particular venom for the spin doctors and PR hacks employed to run “community engagement” programs.

You know, the barefaced liars who pretend to care about your township, community and homes, and who turn up at local Town Halls ready to sprinkle a few $thousand here and there, aiming to purchase a social licence that long ago turned to vapour.

Which brings us to this week’s roundup.

Not only are communities grabbing their metaphorical pitchforks, at least some of their representatives are joining the fight to save real farmers and their families from what they are aptly calling Swindle Factories.

The secret to our last post is in the lenghty title to Brendan Brown’s article on how these things knock millions of bats out of existence without leaving a mark on their fatally wounded little bodies.

Biologists who necropsied 75 bats found dead under wind turbines in southern Alberta counted 32 with visible injuries and 69 with blood pooled in their chests, because the pressure drop behind a passing blade bursts a bat’s lungs without the blade ever touching it
