Truly Creative Marketing: Made With 100% Renewables Claims = 100% Pure Bunkum

Any business claiming its products are made with 100% wind and/or solar power is engaged in truly ‘creative marketing’, aka old-fashioned ‘fraud’.

For a start, the sun sets like clockwork and calm weather sets in, every other day.

Then there’s the fact that – for every MW of wind or solar – there is a MW of reliable, dispatchable electricity generation sitting somewhere connected to the grid, without which we would all be sitting freezing (or boiling) in the dark.

The notion that some virtue signalling outfit’s products are exclusively generated by wind or solar is patent nonsense. In an interconnected grid, one electron behaves much like another, which is just as well.

Here’s a little primer that unpacks yet another myth being peddled by wind and solar worshippers.

Made with Wind Power

As the completely unhinged push for increasing amounts of renewable energy continues, more and more companies are proudly printing that they are “Made with Wind Power” on their packaging.

These companies, no company, has any way of knowing that the electricity they are using comes directly from wind energy. Do you know how they feel they have the right to put these meaningless little pictures on their packages? Well, we asked…

Per General Converting, Inc., a specialty packaging company:

Two things:

  1. They pay a PREMIUM price for electricity.
  2. They still need COAL.

They pay for this “wind powered” designation. The wind does not blow 100% of the time and they also produce energy at a fraction of what Coal, Natural Gas and Nuclear do.

To better understand why they cannot possibly know where their energy is actually coming from, we refer to Ohm’s Law.

This is directly from MISO (the grid). The same grid that General Converting, Inc. gets their electricity from.

Again, two things:

  1. Electricity passes through all possible paths but there is more flow through paths with less resistance.
  2. Once a fuel source has added their energy to the grid, it becomes part of the fuel mix. MISO does not keep the fuel sources separate. They cannot and do not say, “Wind power to this building, Nuclear to this home, Coal to this factory.” That is a magical world and it is not reality.

If you feel like learning a little more about the physics of Ohm’s law, watch this YouTube video.

Final thought, do not buy into the propaganda. They are just taking your money.

Just for good measure, here is a friendly reminder of how little wind actually contributes:

You can check this at any time on MISO’s website.

  1. In South Australia some years ago people were being offered the ‘opportunity’ to help save the environment by choosing to pay a higher price for wind produced energy from some retailers. Of course some misguided fools chose to do this thinking they were ‘saving’ the environment. Eventually retailers were stopped from offering such a false claim to garner money from those who were too silly to realise they were being had.
Now after some years I have noticed claims by companies as noted in the above article are being produced solely by the use of ‘renewable’ energy or that a store’s energy needs are fully met by ‘renewable’ energy.
While some of these stores may have installed Solar panels and backup storage batteries they cannot possibly honestly claim that they are at all times using only ‘renewable’ energy, especially if they happen to be connected to the poles and wires outside their properties and/or if they at anytime utilise this connection to supplement their energy needs.
Surely the ACCC should be onto these people/companies to stop these false claims.
Those who claim they can provide a ‘renewable’ only energy supply from their connection to the Grid are doing nothing more than making false claims.
As above shows its not only in the Australia that power from these Massive Industrial Wind Turbines and Large Scale Solar plants have to go through a Grid system and be mixed with energy from all sources, it is happening across the Globe.
Unless these Massive Industrial Turbine and Large Scale solar companies want to install their own Grid system then they will always be mixed with more reliable energy production sources.
They cannot deny this fact so when they try to get around it with their intricate misleading utterances they should be called out and not only by individuals or newspaper articles but by the authorities who are there to ensure honesty in advertising.
There was an Australian Politician who coined a saying which while aimed at Politicians is very apt in relation to Energy Providers everywhere, he wanted to ‘KEEP THE BASTARDS HONEST’.
Recently in South Australia we have been going through a nightmare in relation to changes in the Planning Code relating to all sections of Planning not just for Renewable Energy.
Within the section for Rural/Regional and specifically in relation to ‘Renewable’ Energy there is a comment/recommendation which I repeat here for your interest and no doubt astonishment:
‘…Commission’s recommendations M.20 states ‘AMEND the definition of Industry to explicitly exclude Renewable Energy Generation facilities such as Wind and Solar Farms’.’
So here it is not just are we being ‘sold’ the idea that we can pay more to get only ‘renewable’ energy through our Grid system and that it is possible for companies to claim they only use ‘renewable’ energy to produce things but we see that someone employed by our State Government to oversea changes to the State Planning Regulations has the audacity to want to alter the meaning of a word just to make these Massive/Huge and getting bigger Industrial Wind Turbines and Industrial sized Solar projects appear to be something other than Industrial.
You have to wonder to who’s benefit this is proposed and have any other recommendations within the Planning Regulations also been influenced in this way? Or do we already know!

    1. The ACCC, when it is proactive, chooses its targets very carefully.
What happened to the 1970s oil run-out and what exactly is the petrol cycle or Singapore having anything to do with the price (other than being this region’s chosen financial hub)?
Of note is AU produces sweet crude that’s all sold OS and buys heavy crude that the distillers get subsidised for because its more expensive to process.
We the doomed mushrooms continue to protest!

  2. I like the Domino Sugar package that claims their sugar is carbon free. C12H22O11 – C12 = 11H2O. How do they make water taste like sugar, and maintain a solid state at room temperature?

  3. “Please describe the environmental attributes that NIPSCO will obtain in conjunction with the Jordan Creek Project.
As used in the Jordan Creek Wind Energy PPA, the term “Environmental Attribute” is intended to capture any changes to governmental rules, regulations or law, or changes to registration systems put in place over the term of the Jordan Creek Wind Energy PPA. I refer to the Environmental Attributes acquired pursuant to the Jordan Creek Wind Energy PPA as RECs, which are tradable credits corresponding to each megawatt‐hour of electricity generated by a renewable‐fueled or environmentally friendly source. NIPSCO anticipates the RECs it receives pursuant to the Jordan Creek Wind Energy PPA will be tracked through the Midwest Renewable Energy Tracking System (“M‐RETS”). M‐RETS is a database that tracks relevant information about renewable energy produced and delivered in the Upper Midwest, including the MISO footprint, to verify for subscribers in states with mandatory or voluntary renewable portfolio standards or for utility and other participants the RECs made available to them through REC purchases and sales. M‐RETS tracks the ownership of RECs “

“The Project will interconnect to the Duke 345 kV Cayuga CT Switching Station, which is approximately 35 miles south of the Project site. The Project will interconnect the Project to the Cayuga Station through an approximately 32-mile 345 kV transmission line that will be built along Indiana State Road 63. Duke’s transmission system is part of the wholesale power grid controlled by MISO.“
Testimony from Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission hearing for cause #45195 & 44978
Dukes substation(switch yard) is the substation for its coal plant at Cayuga Indiana. Jordan Creek Wind Farm is a replacement for the coal plants being closed by NIPSCO in northern Indiana.

    1. So, a wind farm will “replace” Indiana’s coal plants!?! Does the wind blow at 11m/s 24 hours a day 365 days a year in Indiana? It’s a miracle of nature being played out in Indiana. Please keep us up to date.

  4. Its important for companies with potential market image liabilities to claim a “green” virtue. Ziploc (plastic pollution), Amazon (alleged employee mistreatment) and Budweiser (substance abuse issues) all purchase indulgences from the scammers making ruinable energy.

  5. Much like Colonial Sugar Refinery (CSR) saying they make sugar ‘cubes’ on 4 side of the box (bottom included) when they haven’t for years. So there’s no chance of a champagne cocktail.

Truth in advertising went down the drain in the 1980s ALP-NLP economic consensus giving away national sovereignty.
This has led to the stupidity of renewables; just as the end of WWII was the recapture of the American colony.

  6. The fraud is encapsulated in the RECs (Renewable Eanergy Credits). These are nothing more than modern equivalence to the ‘indulgences’ sold by the Catholic Church in days gone by. The modern fraud is in the legal system which DEEMS financial contracts involving these RECs to be legally valid. It is this that enables these fraudulent claims to be made.

It is the legal system which is beginning to rot at the top.

There is also a similar situation where the legal system is now DEEMING biomass energy production to be Carbon neutral.
