Merry Christmas to Stop These Things’ Followers & Happy Seventh Birthday to STT

Merry Christmas and Season’s Greetings to all of our dedicated followers, all around the World.

And it’s Happy Birthday to STT: Boxing Day 2019 marks 7 years of giving the wind industry, its parasites and spruikers hell.

We’ve clocked over 3.68 million views and given our loyal readers 2,595 posts, which lay out the greatest economic and environmental fraud of all time: wind power.

We keep picking up dedicated followers – more than 32,500 so far, from all corners of the globe, including a bunch of canny Scots, Canadians, Americans, English, Welsh, Irish, Cornish, Finns, Danes, Germans, Greeks, South Africans and plenty from Downunder.

Those that watch us include political staffers and journos. STT’s posts are a staple diet for plenty of Liberal, National and Cross-Bench Senators, and their staffers, who have been using it as a trusted reference tool for their speeches, media releases etc for years now.

Then there are our legion of loyal followers in rural communities all over the Globe.

Pro-farming, pro-fishing, pro-community and pro-reliable and affordable power groups are better informed and organised, and more vocal and hostile, than ever before.

STT would like to think that we’ve helped these dedicated individuals and groups a little, by providing them with the kind of factual ammunition that cuts directly across the treachery, lies and deceit – which are the wind industry’s tools-in-trade.

STT was set up as a sanctuary, where the people who have been tragically impacted by – or who are fighting the threat of – giant industrial wind turbines can speak openly and freely – and without fear of vilification or ridicule. And that’s something we have no intention of changing any time soon. This site is and will remain a troll free zone.

We think compassion and empathy far greater virtues than that odious form of self-righteous condescension, which is the trademark of virtue signalling zealots, the world over.

Whatever “social licence” the wind industry might have had – wherever in the world they ply their subsidy-soaked trade – disappeared long ago.

The bullying and threats used by wind power outfits and their stooges doesn’t cut it any more. These days, the town halls – where wind scammers “consult” communities – are filled with people equipped with the real facts: which means they aren’t about to be fooled by set-piece lines, from former second-hand car salesmen, about thousands of local jobs, “free” wind power and new fire trucks.

Looks like the noes have it (again and again)!

In short, the wind industry – which was built on lies and runs on subsidies – lost the battle for hearts and minds in the bush (well, wherever it goes, really) – and, once lost, these hearts will never be regained.

In Germany, the wind industry is in free-fall: new construction is at a standstill – in no small part due to the fact that rural Germans are in full-scale revolt against the wind industry – and tens of thousands of those groovy ‘green’ jobs that the wind industry promised would last forever, have disappeared, almost overnight.

STT thanks its loyal band of followers

We know that you are using STT to help spread the message. But that message is delivered with the help of our thousands of followers and supporters.

So, we say thanks to our many operatives here and around the Globe. People who keep us abreast of events, battles and victories. Plenty of what we do is based on what our growing band of STT Champions sends us, so please keep the Tweets, Facebook posts, comments and emails coming in 2020.

Once reasonable people are introduced to the facts about the insane costs of intermittent and unreliable wind power they cease to support it.

South Australia, Denmark and Germany sit at the top of retail-power-price-league-table for one reason, and one reason only: an utterly unhinged obsession with nature’s ‘wonder fuels’ – sunshine and breezes.

When they learn of the senseless slaughter of millions of birds and bats, and the tragic suffering caused to hard working rural people by giant industrial wind turbines, reasonable people start to bristle.

In our travels we’ve met plenty of people that started out in favour of wind power and turned against it. But we’ve yet to meet anyone who started out opposed to wind power, who later became a supporter. Funny about that.

Hard-working, decent, rural people throughout the world keep fighting back – out to obtain sensible energy policies that support growth, development and vibrant, prosperous rural communities.

These are entirely reasonable people who have tumbled to the fact that they have been lined up as “road-kill” by their political betters to suffer the consequences of a policy built around an insanely expensive, utterly unreliable, intermittent power source – that can only survive on a raft of massive subsidies; kills millions of birds and bats; destroys communities; drives people from their homes; and otherwise makes life misery for thousands around the world.

These people are out to smash a “policy” that – in a few years time, when it all inevitably collapses – will be revealed for what it is: an enormous government-backed Ponzi scheme, the foundations for which are greed and stupidity; and the “justification” for which can only be described as a circus of the bizarre.

We’re not here to debate the wind industry – we’re here to destroy it!

Although, as the subsidies get cut – and with little political will to extend, increase or expand them – the self-destruction of the wind industry seems just a little more inevitable than the so-called ‘inevitable transition’ to an all wind and sun powered future.

As noted above, the wind industry in Germany, and across Europe generally, has virtually collapsed: It’s-A-Knockout: European Wind Industry’s Total Collapse: Firms Bankrupt & Thousands Sacked

In Ontario, Doug Ford’s decision to cancel 750 government contracts with wind power developers in Ontario has left rent seekers furious, and wondering where their next meal might come from?

That decision, however, has been met with a palpable sense of relief across rural Ontario, as it means that hundreds of these things – that were once threatened across its heartland – will never get to torment farmers and their families with practically incessant, low-frequency noise and infrasound: Canadian Club: Wind Industry Furious: Ontario Rips Up 750 Wind Power Contracts

And, in yet another example of why the wind industry could never exist in the absence of massive and endless subsidies, renewable energy rent seekers in Australia are suicidal. With the Federal government’s Large-Scale Renewable Energy Target likely to be satisfied by the target date (2020) new investment has completely collapsed in both wind and large-scale solar.

Investment in solar and wind farms drying up

A sharp slump in new investment in wind and solar farms will continue unless a price is put on carbon or the Renewable Energy Target is extended beyond next year, the Clean Energy Council warns.

CEC chief executive Kane Thornton said investment in renewable energy had dropped by 60 per cent in the past year and declines would continue without government intervention. He said this would put pressure on power prices and reliability as coal generators aged.

The comments ignited a debate about whether renewable energy was the cheapest form of power, as advocates including Anthony Albanese and Malcolm Turnbull claim.

Energy Minister Angus Taylor said large-scale renewables projects would not receive any further government support. “The clean energy industry has assured us that the cost of renewables is now competitive with alternatives so we would expect investment to continue in the absence of subsidies,” he said.

“An industry that is now competitive shouldn’t require additional subsidies, Mr Taylor said. Nearly 70 per cent of Australia’s electricity was generated from coal-fired power this year, compared with 22.6 per cent from renewables.

The RET will result in 33,000GWh of power being derived from renewable power generation next year and the subsidies will continue until 2030 but only for plants constructed by 2020.

The scheme operates by allowing large renewable power stations, such as wind farms, to create renewable energy certificates for every megawatt hour of power they generate. The certificates are bought by electricity retailers who sell the electricity to householders and businesses.

Mr Thornton said the industry was not asking for subsidies, despite his call for an extension of the RET. “The RET could actually be extended in a way that provides that certainty,” he said. “The market will decide whether there is in fact a subsidy delivered or not.

“(In one project), the renewable energy certificates that were delivered were worth zero. So that project was essentially getting no subsidy but was getting certainty from the target.”

The fall in investment from renewables, also shown in a report released this month by the Clean Energy Regulator, comes amid continuing tight supply in parts of the electricity market during periods of high demand.

The Australian Energy Regulator launched an investigation on Friday after South Australia’s wholesale spot electricity price hit the market price cap of $14,700 a megawatt hour twice on Thursday night, amid a severe heatwave.

With the Morrison government moving to fund a feasibility study into a coal-fired power station in central Queensland, the Opposition Leader this week declared a new coal plant was not needed because “renewables are cheaper than fossil fuels”.

“Markets will determine what the economics are of projects,” he said. “And the economics of projects are showing that renewables are cheaper than fossil fuels and that change has occurred over a period of time. And one would expect that would continue.”
The Australian

That Kane Thornton – the highly paid head spruiker for the wind and solar lobby – is a little bit peeved about his future prospects is as much about being exposed for the glaring internal inconsistency in the wind and solar mantra, as it is about the fact that his industry is doomed.

It’s an inconsistency seized on by Angus Taylor when he says: “The clean energy industry has assured us that the cost of renewables is now competitive with alternatives so we would expect investment to continue in the absence of subsidies.”

It is, of course, patent nonsense: wind and solar don’t ‘compete’ with anything – think breathless days (and total wind power output collapses) and the setting sun (ditto with solar output) – for 18 years they’ve been competing with each other to snaffle as much of the subsidy pie as possible. Now, they’ve devoured the lot and there won’t be a second helping.

So, when Taylor says that ‘large-scale renewables projects would not receive any further government support’, he’s really issuing a death sentence to wind and large-scale solar. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

With events across Europe, in Germany, Ontario and Australia in mind, STT can probably afford to take our foot off the pedal for a while: the wind industry appears well and truly capable of destroying itself, without any more intervention from us!

As 2019 draws to a close, STT is going box up our festive loot, put our boots up and rest on our laurels for a bit.

STT went about this work not for any reward – save knowing that our efforts might help spare thousands from the misery of living with practically incessant, turbine generated low-frequency noise and infrasound – as well as helping to obtain an energy policy that works for families and businesses – not against them – as current energy policy clearly is.

Thanks for your support – together – we will prevail.

STT hopes you all have a great Christmas and that you’re all ready to take it up to them in 2020. We are! But, for now, we’re heading bush to put our boots up for a while.

    A Happy New Year STT!

    2020 is off and running!!

Thanks to the person in the UK who drew my attention to this news story.

    SKY News UK

    Friday 3 January 2020 13:51, UK

‘Energy firms pay £10.5m in redress over massive August power failure.’

The blackout last summer affected services, particularly rail travel, across large parts of England and Wales on a Friday evening.

Three companies are going to pay £10.5m in redress after massive power cuts last summer caused travel chaos.

An investigation by the energy regulator Ofgem found that more than one million customers were affected when two large generators were taken offline by lightning strikes on 9 August.

The watchdog said the Hornsea One wind farm off the Yorkshire coast and RWE-owned Little Barford in Bedfordshire did not remain connected after the lightning hit.

Hornsea One Ltd, co-owned by Orsted, and Little Barford, operated by RWE, have agreed to make a voluntary payment of £4.5m each into Ofgem’s voluntary redress fund, the regulator said.

It added that UK Power Networks had agreed to pay £1.5m.

That was because the network operating firm had begun reconnecting customers without being asked to by the National Grid Electricity System Operator – potentially jeopardising recovery of the system.

A review is currently examining what lessons can be learned.

    End quote.

STT is a site I read daily. It has lots of great information. I miss your insite as you take the holidays off.

President Trump has come out swinging as a supporter of our cause:

  3. For those who live and own property around and above Chevelon Butte and directly east of the canyon areas which are a “Mini Grand Canyon” that include Chevelon Canyon Ranch, Chevelon Acres, Chevelon Retreat, and are now subject to 2 planning committee APPROVALS by Navajo and Coconino counties in Arizona and one Board of Supervisors APPROVAL by Navajo county for the massive blight farm project in wind energy whereas wind farms also BURN UP energy routinely this holiday is not happy. It is now up to Coconino county Board of Supervisors to decide if Arizona wants to feature the distraction of “wonders” in having the biggest pile of energy crap anywhere in the entire state at Chevelon Butte featuring massive farm of 49 square miles of disgusting annoying disorienting flashing red lights all night long and ugly turbine propeller sticks by day towering an extra 200 feet over the lands to the east. Jason Whiting the Board of Supervisors in Navajo County who directly is supposed to be representing those who own and live in the region is “nowhere to be found” on this, has not responded to inquiries, and DID NOT EVEN VOTE! No mention on his Facebook page of the project! No response as to why he did not vote and Tom O’Halleran another lost in the carbon clouds clown who voted to impeach Trump “no where to be found” either on this matter. I will support his removal to be replaced with Tiffany Shedd for Congress 2020 and will request that Congress enact a new law providing tax payer subsidized REPARATIONS that also place burden on ALL WHO PROFITED FROM THIS ENERGY SCAM to all and every homeowner and property owner that has been affected any time in the last 100 years by these highly offensive industrial wind farm projects that WASTE ENERGY.

More heartfelt thanks to STT from the front lines of the effort to blow the $70 billion business plan for offshore wind arrays along the US East Coast from Maine to the Carolinas – to blow it out of the water!

STT is right: “These days, the town halls – where wind scammers ‘consult’ communities – are filled with people equipped with the real facts: which means they aren’t about to be fooled by set-piece lines….” See the video of a particularly well-educated and well-received community of experts fighting the first of the major large-scale east coast offshore arrays (the 800MW “Vineyard Wind” project), currently stalled after the Edgartown Conservation Commission denied its cable permit.

It’s pretty amusing to watch the fecklessness of the self-identified “expert permitting team” when their “facts” are questioned. “The Fishermen’s Meeting.Edgartown.6.27.19” is a passionate public conversation on the pros and cons as voiced by both sides, with currently 546 views from around the world.

God bless you, STT. Your work has been invaluable in getting the truth out. Merry Christmas and may 2020 be a Brilliant New Year for our Beautiful Beloved Planet Earth.

  6. Thanks STT for another great year exposing the wind industry and the opportunistic parasites that support it as the most useless, destructive Ponzi scheme in a generation.
Enjoy your well earned Christmas break.

  7. STT, your site allows people from other parts of the world to share their stories and encourage others who are wide awake to the industrial wind turbine incursion, to keep up the fight. Thank you from Ontario, Canada and please have some well deserved holidays!
Here’s something that might bring cheer to all who realize that behind the IPCC deception, that got us into this mess in the first place, is the United Nations. Courageous journalists and researchers are exposing these deep and dark connections. Let’s hope that in 2020 we get right to the bottom and put an end to all of this.

“The evidence indicates that Enron would not have been able to engage in the extent of the accounting deceptions it did, involving billions of dollars, were it not for the active participation of major financial institutions willing to go along with and even expand upon Enron’s activities,”

‘Officials “are able to hide … debt” from Wall Street analysts’…a “standard practice in structured finance.” The Wind Industry is Enron on Steroids

  9. PS, was driving around Warrnambool tonight, hardly any Christmas lights compared to bygone years. So, they have wrecked that as well.

  10. You are an absolute legend, keeping us together and exposing the wind developers and the political greens for what they are: absoulute trash. Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. Not sure where we would be without you? Tom, Willatook, Victoria.

Has the Renewable Energy Messiah been possessed by demonic forces?

Will Yoda Yates become a daytime soap star?

Will Gilligan from “Ruin the Economy” be shortlisted for a Darwin award?

When I first left school to come home on the farm and came in for lunch, mum would occasionally have the tv on in the background with that long running American soap “Days of our lives.”

In many ways the plight of the zealots and rent seekers is a modern-day version of the soap. Just when you think the script has already reached peak bullshit the zealots excel themselves. You could miss a month of episodes, tune in and basically pick up the plot. It’s a bit like that with the zealots in twitter world.

There were characters in “Days” such as Stephano, Victor, Roman, Marlena, Beau and Hope. In some of the more infamous episodes, Marlena became possessed by demonic forces, where her eyes would glow green when provoked.

Proving truth is stranger than fiction it seems our very own Renewable Energy Messiah has become possessed! Chilling reports coming from the Smart Energy Council suggest that at the mere mention of the names, Angus Taylor, Scott Morrison or Josh Frydenberg is enough to send the Messiah over the edge, his eyes turn “renewable green”, horns protrude from his head, apparently he’s walking the streets of Hawthorn with a black cloak on and carrying a trident.

An exorcism is needed from that High Priest of zealots, Prof. Ross Garnaut, however he’s as old as Methuselahs dog and unfortunately may not have enough bark left in him to get the job done.

The thing about Days of our lives was that anything was possible. One week the beautiful blonde Marlena jumped out the window of a 35-story building, you tuned in a month later and she was jumping into the sack with the same minister that had anointed her on her death bed!

Yoda Yates will need a similar reincarnation if he is to come back from the pummelling he has had this year. I have recently written Yoda off, he was out of my script, he was dead and buried in my mind. Smashed in the federal election, stitched up by Chicken women Zali and disowned by his own pooch “Peanut.”

Today the Federal Court dismissed his misleading signs case against the Liberal party. Hang in there big fella we’ve both done it tough this year, drought, frost and bushfires have certainly made it a year to remember over here. Only difference is that I don’t blame Scomo for my woes, I just saddle up and get back on the horse.

Ever so occasionall, in my comments on STT I nudge the boundaries of bullshit, however I am not worthy to sit at the heels of the master himself, Gilligan from Ruin the Economy. In his latest literary masterpiece entitled “Consumers don’t value grid reliability as much as they used to” his delusional rantings all but engraves his name on the trophy for a future Darwin award. The Ruin the Economy website should come with a warning; “Too much green hydrogen can impact your cognitive abilities.”

Gilligan, Yoda, Messiah and Charismatic Kane have all sent out their Christmas greeting to the faithful. There has been plenty of self-congratulations on how many hits to their websites they have had.
Why the Messiah keeps pumping up his socks that he’s has reached number two on a published list of globally influential social media activist on climate change. Charismatic Kane on the CEC twitter site does a short video on 2019 highlights whilst doing a wonderful impression of Edward Scissor hands.

Unfortunately for these boys, like the plots in Days of our lives, no one really believes them, they are but a soap opera.

In the real world, the voters have spoken.

Perhaps the last word should be given to MacDonald Carey who would always start “Days of our lives” with a voice over of ”Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.”

    Keep punching STT.

  12. John Leahey says:

Thanks. Been following you guys for a good while, and love what you do. Dont stop, please… I do send your stuff around. You dont know me , but a geologist by training, plenty of real world commercial/financial stuff in there as well , and a sceptic on the climate thing for decades now.

So I get your message and material. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your team.

  13. Crispin bpm says:

Thank you once again STT. And thank you for providing a space to air our comments.

    Have a well earned break.

Last Friday 20th December 2019, was unlike any other that I have experienced in South West Victoria, or anywhere else for that matter. The hot northerly winds moved in across the region bringing 44C temperatures. This, in my opinion, was not unusual. I have seen temperatures reach 46C a few years back. However, it was the behaviour of the ‘grid’ that was bizarre. I first noticed this at around noon. The electricity was ‘on’, but the voltage had dropped considerably. I could not get any pressure out of the water pumps. There was only a trickle. They had been fine earlier in the day. They were fine again later after this mysterious event. Then at around 1pm, the power went out for several hours. When it was restored, it ran for about an hour or so, then ‘off’ again for approximately 5 minutes. It repeated this behaviour several times in the afternoon, and on into the evening. Something was clearly wrong. My guess was that a massive juggling act was going on behind the scenes in an effort to stop the grid collapsing. I have never witnessed grid behaviour like it in my entire life! Even during the Black Saturday events 10 years ago.

This is insane! How much more abuse can the eastern grid take?

As to the matter of ‘climate change’, much has been made about the rise of ocean sea levels. Personally, I am more interested in the tectonic plate movements around the Pacific Ring of Fire. In Kaikoura NZ on 14th November 2016, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake forced a 110 kilometre stretch of the ocean floor, to rise upwards out of the sea, up to 6 metres in places, lowering tide levels. The video below illustrates the implications of this event.

Curiously, there has been little mention of this in the global media.

    I wonder why?

To those who have lost their lives as a result of the recent geological activity in both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. R.I.P.

I hope to revisit this spectacular country in future.

    Sea change at Kaikoura…
