Greens Senator Richard “Die Nasty” cops it from Hamish Cumming

Richard “Die Nasty” spruiking for Vestas & Co.

It’s official: the Australian Greens are fully paid-up advocates for the wind industry.

Back before the Federal election we reported on how Vestas & Co had poured something like $1 million into the Greens’ advertising war chest in a futile effort to knock off STT champion, Independent Senator, Nick Xenophon.

The Greens became a front for the wind industry in its battle to defeat Nick and to save that mean and, not-so-bright, little grub, Sarah Hanson-Young.

Nick romped it home, despite the wind industry’s concerted efforts – and Nick, just like Angus “The Enforcer” Taylor, is quite understandably keen to tear the wind industry apart, piece by stinking piece.

Faced with pending oblivion, the wind industry has got its Green stooges working overtime.  Their latest effort has been a pernicious and ludicrous attack on Sarah Laurie and the Waubra Foundation.

One of the meanest and nastiest of their number is Senator Richard Di Natale (although we prefer “Die Nasty” – which he clearly will).

This coward has just used Parliamentary privilege to peddle a series of woeful lies about Sarah and the Waubra Foundation.  “Disgraceful” doesn’t cover it.

This political pygmy is not only nasty, but he is seriously stupid.

By drawing attention to the plight of rural communities, like Macarthur, set upon by giant fans across Australia – and the fact that Sarah Laurie has, for years now, been championing research into the known and obvious impacts the incessant noise from those fans has on sleep and human health – Die Nasty has helped draw media and political attention onto just how sordid and rotten the whole wind scam is.

It’s like turning a spotlight onto a cesspit.

The calls to scrap the Renewable Energy Target by the mainstream press have now become a cacophony, with article after article attacking the insanely expensive, and utterly ineffective, RET.  STT is almost getting bored posting them – the theme is the same, and we know it won’t stop until the RET is dead and buried. So, STT will just have to suck it up and get used to it, we guess.

Acciona’s ongoing criminal activity at Waubra is something that will only receive more attention, not less, thanks to Die Nasty’s attack on Sarah Laurie.

STT hears that Senator John Madigan is not planning to let up until the Commonwealth has recovered every last cent of the $80 million worth of RECs that Acciona has received – unlawfully – by continually lying about its entitlement to be accredited to receive them over the last 5 years.

Not only have the, so-called, Greens drawn the attention of the mainstream media guns onto serious wind scammer shenanigans, they’ve caused STT champions everywhere to take up arms in Sarah Laurie’s defence; champions, such as Hamish Cumming.

Hamish is a true environmentalist – his love of endangered brolgas and his sterling efforts to prevent them being sliced and diced by giant fans, has made him a true Victorian legend.  Here’s Hamish serving it up to Die Nasty and his wind industry backers.

Open Letter to Senator Di Natale
8 November 2013

In response to your interview on ABC and various other written musings.

The Greens constantly amaze me with their lack of knowledge and their dogmatic views on wind farms that seem devoid of any facts.

Worse still is your concept that anyone who speaks out about the harm wind farms do to people, fauna and the environment is not acting in the interest of the public.

Funny, I would have thought the Greens were acting against the public interest with their refusal to acknowledge several peer reviewed reports that confirm turbine sickness, court cases in other countries that were won by people made sick by turbines and the fact that Waubra and other wind farms are not compliant to their permit conditions regarding noise.

The Greens accuse those that speak out against the wind farm companies of being on the coal companies’ payroll, whereas it is the Greens who are acting as spokespeople for the big wind farm companies, which just happen to be some of the same companies that own the coal fired power stations and run the coal mines. Hypocrisy at its best.

The Greens have become ruthless in defending the wind industry, the same as politicians and companies defended asbestos, tobacco and DDT for fifty years. The Greens have lost their social conscience and lost any credibility they had by selling out to the big business of the wind industry. History will judge you harshly for what you are doing now.

Greens constantly claim wind farms reduce greenhouse gases (GHG), but they rarely do. I have provided the AEMO data streams and facts to Greg Barber and Christine Milne, along with Loy Yang Carbon intensity figures from their published reports to verify this, but the Green still bang on about wind farms and how wonderful they think they are.

But the glaringly obvious proof was documented by the AEMO on July 4 this year. Between the time of 14.50 and 14.55 on July 4, Portland, Macarthur and Lake Bonney dropped 449 MW off the Eastern Grid in the 5-minute period. At the same time, in the same 5-minute period, coal fired power stations in the Eastern Grid loaded up 334 MW, gas added 61 MW and hydro 76 MW. A total of 471 MW. AEMO have confirmed this was an unplanned “failure” event, so power had to be taken from generators that had it available instantly, where coal was being burnt on standby. There was no blackout, not even a flicker from a light bulb.

AEMO have confirmed 500 MW drop-offs are regularly picked up by coal fired power stations.

It is estimated that there is 1000 MW of standby power fossil fuel being unnecessarily burnt to keep generators hot and available in case of such events, negating nearly all wind farm generation in Australia over an entire year of operation. In reality wind farms have made the carbon intensity worse, and the only reason there have been GHG savings at all is due to industry shutting down and reducing demand, and the swing from coal to gas in some states.

Further to this, the Greens support wind farm projects that fraudulently claim the absence of protected flora and fauna, even though overwhelming evidence of the presence of the species, and the destruction and displacement of the same species at existing wind farms has been directly issued to Greg Barber and Christine Milne. Surely wind farms should only be allowed in areas that are not environmentally sensitive – I would have thought the Greens would understand that!

I sent Greg Barber the peer reviewed Laura Navarrete reports on cranes interaction with wind farms in Texas; which show cranes are displaced out as far as 8km from wind turbines, yet the consultant that Greg keeps supporting and agreeing with claims displacement is only 350 meters. Proof at Yambuk, Waubra and now Macarthur show that it is over 5km. Brolga (cranes) cannot be accused of being NIMBYs or from being on the coal companies’ payroll. Yet when humans complain about the disturbance within 2 km they are immediately branded by the Greens as NIMBY or mentally ill.

It appears lately the Greens have forgotten what they originally stood for, to protect the environment and protect species from threat and to protect the people in society that cannot protect themselves!

Instead the Greens now are spokespeople for big multi-nationals, claiming to save the planet by covering the countryside with turbines. All of Australia’s GHG is now less than 1% of the world’s emissions, wind farms in Australia will not reduce the global GHG emissions by any measurable amount. Wind farms will however displace Brolga from their habitat, threatening their survival; wind farms divide communities and make hundreds of people sick and force them out of their houses, and wind farms make big companies rich by ripping off the entire community through subsidies extorted from power bills.

I believe Bob Brown once said that the Greens were not here to keep the bastards honest, but to replace them. I think the Greens today are taking Bob’s comment literally.

Regards,
Hamish Cumming.
Mechanical Engineer, Farmer and Brolga Conservationist.

Nice work Hamish!

And STT says: hats off, to Die Nasty & Co, as well.

By screaming “blue murder” about the honest, moral and decent conduct of Sarah Laurie and her gang, you’ve made the case for STT a whole lot easier. Thanks!

So mouthing off about Sarah Laurie has made it worse for
the wind industry, not better. Geez, who would have thought?

  1. The stupidity of the greens continues to amaze me as does their willingness to turn a blind eye to the environmental destruction caused by industrial wind projects. Where once I voted green, I now steer well clear…they have lost integrity along with their brains…

    1. Absolutely agree Sasi, as a disillusioned Greens supporter.

Bob Brown’s influence has faded, and the new leaders are bereft of principles of social justice and honesty.

Any Green’s legacy of Bob Browns integrity was blown away a long time ago when Green ‘we are saving the planet’ mythology blinded Me Milne, De Natured and Handsome-Bum to the atrocity of the multinational windscam sacrificing neighbours to the deleterious acoustic and visual pollution impacts. The fact they have taken wind industry money to spruik for ‘wind’ simply amplifies and reinforces their loss of principles.

The only green I will support in future is found in nature.
The political greens lost their links to the earth a long time ago.

  2. Hamish and STT thank you for continuing to expose and explain the disgraceful behaviour of the not so green but tinted or is that ‘tainted’ Greens.
Here in SA we have one of the most unfathomable Green politicians in the country. He continually comes out with such over the top comments he is something of a laughing stock.
He is so inconsistent with what he supports and doesn’t support as being environmentally worthy.
While I agreed a moratorium should be placed on the fishing factory ship from operating in Australian waters until research had been conducted, and I agree no mining should be condoned on the Yorke Peninsula in exceptionally good agricultural lands, and a moratorium on it until research has been conducted, I cannot believe his continued failure to support a call for a moratorium on anymore IWT’s here in SA until research has been conducted as called for by the Federal Senate.
It’s not as if he hasn’t been made aware of recent research, reports or even the items discovered recently going back to the 1980’s, because as a member of a parliamentary committee looking into the Wind Industry he has certainly had the opportunity to read it all.
Even yesterday when he was here in the South East of SA speaking to farmers about dangers of gas drilling and fracking near Panola, when asked on ABC radio a listeners question, why he didn’t support a moratorium on IWT’s until the research had been done – he answered there was no evidence of them being the cause of health problems!!
When asked by another listener how many more Wind ‘Farms’ would be needed before other forms of energy production could be shut down – he didn’t provide an answer, but reiterated one of his ‘beliefs’, that in about 15 years batteries would have been designed that could store the energy from IWT’s, and because of the National Grid there was no problem because if the wind wasn’t blowing in one place it would be in another.
He has been an MP here for some years and has always been known for his ridiculous orating and there seems to be no stopping him. A wonderful example of why NOT to vote ‘tainted’ Green.
‘Tainted’ Greens are an easy target for Wind companies. The more I hear and see of their stupidity the more I wonder that anyone could continue to support them.
True environmentalists must be trembling at the thought ‘tainted’ Greens may decide to support valid environmentally significant projects they are working on.

  3. I rang the Senator’s office in Geelong a few weeks ago, when he tried to jump on the Waubra foundation bandwagon – that’s the bandwagon started by Acciona energy, not the people at Waubra, to have the name changed.

I still haven’t received my return call from the Senator, he is obviously as gutless as he is stupid.

  4. Comments by Dr Natale are fictional only. The facts are that the formation of the Waubra Foundation, with Dr Sarah Laurie’s involvement, was after the Dean Report was completed. After 20 Statutory Declarations of evidence of health affects experienced were given to the Victorian Health Minister, Mr Daniel Andrews, at a community Cabinet Meeting in Bendigo, about the first week of June 2010.

Claims by Die Nasty that the Waubra foundation is peddling unfounded myths about health impacts of wind farms and there is no scientific evidence are factually not true. A conversation with his office in Canberra on 8/11 revealed he is relying on the Chapman’s Nocebo affect study. This is in fact implying that all people that were affected prior to Dr Sarah Laurie’s involvement in July 2010 are liars.

Senator Di Natale is also defaming the Doctors that I have consulted who have advised me that the affects indicate Labyrinthitis, electromagnetic disturbance of brain and body, analgesic overuse and that my headaches may well be at the nidus of a constructional interference pattern from several nearby turbines. Adding to that was Hyperbaric Treatment. I have followed the above doctor’s guidance and I have and continue to gain better health by staying away from the turbines completely.

After speaking to the Senator’s Office in Canberra, it appears he is using information from the fictional press release and not the factual information contained in the NHMRC reveiw. They have also relied on Simon Chapman’s work on Nocebo. Chapman is not Acoustically trained and clearly does not know that using 5hz alone to investigate effects of infrasound is stupid and hopeless.

    Noel Dean.

  5. Die Nasty (Di Natale) and Christine Milne would not have a clue what they are talking about when it comes to Industrial Wind Turbines. All they know about is all the kick backs they get from Vestas and the wind companies.

These two senators would be some of the many greentards that are of the worst kind, as they don’t care about the people that suffer from the turbine-generated infrasound and low frequency noise, let alone the bird life that get sliced when they get mixed up with the fans (despite saying they care about the environment).

I wonder what they would think if they got hit with a big fan? The almighty Professor Simon Chapman would say it would not hurt as their suffering would only in the mind.

    1. The ‘Green’ IS hitting the fan!

And like the mosquito hitting the windscreen the last thing going through their minds is…..their arses (in parliament).

  6. Thanks STT for another educational post.

The ‘fossil fuel’ conspiracy trotted out by the Greens whenever honorable citizens raise genuine issues about adverse human health impacts from industrial wind turbines is plain wrong and absurdly hypocritical as Hamish makes clear. Another reason why the Greens are losing their support from long standing Green’s voters.

And Hamish clearly and concisely outlines how and why industrial wind factories when considered in the total electricity generation system, are not producing ‘carbon free’ energy. It is a bald faced lie, which the Greens know about, yet will not face up to, in public at least.

I guess the Green’s honest analysis of a multinational and multibillion dollar industry (complete with mafia involvement) that has just slipped you a bulging brown paper bag to ‘act on facts’ and bankroll a failed bid for senate balance of power helps to suspend one’s critical faculties somewhat. If those faculties existed prior of course.

And then I guess Die Nasty becomes Die Loaded. Another forgettable Green, corrupted by money and delusions of grandeur, caught in the act and destined for the compost bin of political history.
