Stop These Things’ Weekly Round Up: 8 June 2025

The grand wind and solar ‘transition’ is unravelling, across the globe. Households and businesses being crushed by crippling power bills are fighting back. And the net-zero narrative that underpins the greatest environmental and economic fraud of all time is being revealed for what it is: human-hating Marxism, at its best. Although this time, is being headed up by self-serving billionaire Bolsheviks.

Which brings us to this week’s roundup.

Former National Party MP, John Anderson meets with Chris Uhlmann in this video podcast to explain all the above. Uhlmann, one of a handful of Australian media commentators who actually understand what is going on, lays it out in clear and simple terms.

Bjorn Lomborg takes a closer look at the wind and solar driven blackout calamity suffered in Spain and Portugal on 28 April, when the Iberian Peninsula went from running on 100% sunshine and breezes, one-minute to running on 100% candles, the next.

James Varney shines a light on the millions of tonnes of toxic junk piling up in landfills, where millions of solar panels and hundreds of thousands of wind turbine blades will continue to leach their poisonous entrails into the soil and groundwater, for generations to come.

Following on from the two-part piece featured last week, Russ Schussler turned his focus to the manner in which intermittent and heavily subsidised wind and solar inevitably destroy orderly power markets.

In this video report on the final and inevitable collapse of Ivanpah solar plant, Reason TV proves the adage that the bigger they come, the harder they fall. Massive and endless subsidies couldn’t match the hubris, and US taxpayers are left with an enormous bill and an enormous mess to remove from a once pristine Mojave desert environment.

And we finish up this week, with a heartwarming story about one of these things self-immolating, without warning. Although, as Aidan Morrison observes, the only upside was that the conflagration occurred in winter, rather than in summer during the peak bushfire season.

Stay tuned, STT will be back next week with more.
