Stop These Things’ Weekly Round Up: 14 January 2025

Happy New Year to all our loyal followers. We hope you had a fabulous Christmas. With Donald J Trump returning to the White House next week, 2025 promises to deliver unprecedented pain and suffering to wind and solar rent seekers, wherever they ply their subsidy-soaked trade.

In this week’s roundup, we have articles on the truly obscene total cost attached to wind power (and how those costs are buried under a mountain of spin and propaganda); the even more obscene cost of paying wind power outfits to produce nothing at all (and how the cost is increasing); how Europe is quietly and vigourously embracing nuclear power like its life depends on (which it very much does); how the Climate Industrial Complex is working overdrive to prevent nuclear power doing so, anywhere else – especially Australia; on the idiocy of Australia’s so-called ‘Teal’ MPs (a gaggle of flibbertigibbets backed by billionaire wannabe ‘wind power hero’, Simon Holmes a Court); how a Native American group – Oklahoma’s Osage – fought successfully to prevent 84 of these things destroying their Prairie homeland; and how California’s wind and solar obsession has set it up for a total energy supply failure.
