Follow The Money: Wind & Solar Rort Driven By Cynical Self-Interest

In the race of life always back the horse named ‘self-interest’ and to get the bottom of any scam, simply follow the money.

In Australia, the Australian Labor Party is running an energy policy so delusional it’s dangerous. Nominally in charge of the Federal government, the ALP is doing everything in its power to wreck the prospect of a nuclear powered future. Principally because it’s already profiting handsomely from the grand wind and solar scam.

The ALP’s unhinged opposition to ever-reliable nuclear is driven by the staggering amount of money to be made from the Trade Union Superannuation funds controlled by ALP members and Union hacks.

Union super funds are heavily invested in the renewable energy rort in this Country. Accordingly, the band of Labor apparatchiks who sit on Union Super Fund boards and direct mountains of cash to thoroughly uneconomic wind and large-scale solar projects, are more than happy to sacrifice whole industries, thousands of businesses and hundreds of thousands of jobs in the quest to carpet Australia in thousands more of these things and millions more solar panels.

Pauline Hanson, a Federal Senator from Queensland, is renowned for her satirical cartoon assassinations of the buffoons who pretend to govern us. This time she slaughters the principal profiteers from the Big Wind & Solar Rort.

Anthony Albanese: Hi, it’s me, Anthony Albanese. A lot of people have been asking me why we at the Labor Party won’t even consider nuclear energy, even though it’s obviously the best option we have for Australia’s future. Sure it’s clean, green and it’ll provide an abundance of low carbon power just like it does for France and the US. Yes, it’ll slash power prices, increase wages and grow societal wealth. And yes, I know it’s provably safe. Even I know that wind farms kill more people than nuclear. Duh. So why are we dodging a genuine conversation about nuclear energy and instead resorting to silly moves to ridicule it.

Yeah, nice one, Penny. See, Pauline Hanson’s not the only one that could do funny cartoons. Simpsons memes. Aren’t I the coolest? So why are we going all in on these ridiculous renewables like wind, solar, and batteries, even though we know they’re not viable? Well, the answer is superannuation. Sounds confusing and boring, doesn’t it? So here’s Paul Keating in a bubble bath to explain.

Paul Keating: Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. Was this some sort of rip-off of that movie The Big Short, is it? Yes. It’s called The Big Rort. You want to know why Labor refuses to even consider nuclear power? All you’ve got to do is follow the money. You know those industry super funds, right? The ones that do this from little things, big things grow. Yeah, well it turns out they heavily invest in green energy projects and it just so happens to be the very same projects the government pumps billions of dollars into as well.

It’s basically free money and lots of it. But don’t you go bloody accusing anyone from Labor of advising these super funds in some sort of secret closed-door meeting. No, it’s not a secret. We’re doing it in plain sight, you goose. You don’t have to look very far to find out that I advised AustralianSuper through this investment firm called Lazard.

And look, Wayne Swan’s, not just the president of the National Labor Party, he’s also the chair of Cbus. How much more blatant can we be? Ain’t that right, Swannie?

Wayne Swan: Mm-hmm. Definitely not a conflict of interest.

Paul Keating: No, of course it’s not. Nothing’s wrong with making a few guaranteed risk-free dollar-reduced hand over fist. But it’s not like these super funds just donate it straight back to the Labor Party. That’d be too obvious. So what do they do with all that disgusting filthy money? Well, that’s where the unions come in. Ain’t that right, John Setka.

John Setka: Yeah mate, let me give that a bit of a wash for you.

Paul Keating: You see unions like the CFMEU here, they’re able to funnel clean money back to the Labor Party, no dramas. And who cares that unions are donating more money and running more ads than ever before, even though union memberships are an all-time low. There’s nothing sus about that. And the best bit is none of this is illegal, yet, and there ain’t nothing that’s going to stop us except nuclear. Nuclear will give the country an abundance of reliable and clean energy so the government won’t need to dump billions and billions of dollars into solar, wind, and battery projects. And there goes all our delicious free money. So there you go. When you follow the money, this is where you end up, and you can either pull the plug like an idiot, or you can just jump in with all of us, where the water’s fine. Ain’t that right mate?

Anthony Albanese: Ah, the water’s actually pretty filthy, Paul.

Paul Keating: Yep. Just the way we like it.

Anthony Albanese: Authorised by D. Huxham for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, Brisbane.
