Australia’s Total Wind & Solar Push – Nothing Short of Total Insanity

Just as Europe reverses course on its wind and solar-powered energy calamity, in Australia, the lunatics in charge of the asylum are determined to double down and destroy what remains of this country’s once reliable and affordable power supplies.

With policies directed at wiping reliable coal-fired power plants off the map and rewarding the unreliables with even more subsidies, soft loans and mandated targets, Australians might well wonder where their next watt might be coming from, and how on Earth they will afford to pay for power when their bills rocket once again – in July retail prices are set to jump by 20-30% depending on the state you’re in [Note to Ed: a state of poverty, most likely].

Peta Credlin poses that very question with Terry McCrann in this Sky News interview.

Herald Sun Business Commentator Terry McCrann says Australia’s “mad rush to renewables” is just “total insanity” as the push for renewable energy will result in mass increases to the cost of electricity.

“Putting aside the basic insanity of both just thinking we can solve all our economic problems by bringing in 400,000 or 500,000 migrants a year – and secondly that we can go so rapidly to get rid of all the reliable sources about,” Mr McCrann said.

“Embracing very expensive alternatives is just a recipe for a massive continual increase in price.”

Peta Credlin: All right. Let’s go to this comment. Just before I came on air, I was listening to the Head of Bowen Coking Coal, Nick Jorss. He was speaking with Sharri Markson, and was doing my hair and makeup, and my ears pricked up at this comment he made. Have a listen.

Nick Jorss: These targets are, I think, unachievable. We’ve seen what’s happened in other jurisdictions like Germany where they’ve moved frankly too fast towards renewables. Their costs are some of the highest in the world for their electricity. We’ve got enough cost of living pressure here in Australia as it is, and we don’t want to add to that. We don’t need to make ourselves less competitive and lose more jobs.

Peta Credlin: He’s absolutely right, isn’t he, Terry?

Terry McCrann: Well, exactly. It’s brutally clear, Peta, that this mad rush to renewables, particularly in the context of this massive increase in population is just total insanity. I mean, putting aside the basic insanity of both just thinking we can solve all our economic problems by bringing in four, 500,000 migrants a year, increasing over the years, and secondly, that we can go so rapidly to get rid of all the reliable sources of power, when you put the two together, a massive increase in population, all of which demands electricity and destroying our sensible electricity system and embracing very expensive alternatives is just a recipe for massive and continual increases in price, if we can actually get the electricity when we touch that switch.

  1. Compound the madness with the fact that both major parties in Oz have bought into the unreliables scam.
Who needs enemies when you have politicians such as that in Oz.
